today was such a pleasant day. truly. we went to the home of audrey's daughter sarah & her family. her sons are seriously so cute. they're around six & eight, i think. there is a mass amount of baby frogs in their back yard {yards are called gardens here. mind-blowing...} & we chased them around for a bit. just like my childhood. :) dinner was so. good. meat & vegetables constitute most dinners here. it's grand. the best part of the day was when emma & i were talking to ewan, the older boy, & she asked if he would ever get married. his response- "i was born alone & i will die alone." like, what? after we both died of laughter, we asked where in the world he got that. apparently it's a reworked ice age quote. in any case, this child is brilliant. also, i convinced the boys that i am seven years old in american years. an american year is 600 days long, if you were wondering. it helped that they are young so my inability to control my giggles went right over their heads. i had them going for a while but in the end, i set them straight. i think i'm funny.
we didn't make it to church today... oh, well. next week is a new week. we're going to church in the morning to do child care for a moms' bible study. :)
sorry. no pictures from today. just this lovely picture of me. such good quality. i personally like the glow the computer screen gives me. so natural. really natural since i'm not wearing makeup. putting my vanity aside, friends. i don't know why my hand &/or arm always have to be in the picture with me. i think i just really don't like to be in pictures alone. my hand is big enough to be another face. i'm sure you can tell, my bed is a bunk bed. i know sleeping on the top is cooler but there are spiders on the ceiling & the bottom has more space.
i'm done babbling endlessly for the night. have a loverly day. :)
p.s. today's song pairing {if you pay attention to that on facebook} was introduced to me by my dear brother. thanks, herman. :)
I love his quote...he's beyond his years! only you would come up with an idea like telling a kid you're 7 years old.
ReplyDeletewe went to the Champs' last night to surprise Alisha on her birthday...Elly was trying to put her dolls to sleep and asked us to "shhhh" so we wouldn't wake them up. and Addy girl brought out her pretty bird and we all got to hold it. she's such a good bird momma :) we scared the daylights out of Alisha when she came down from putting her kids to bed and we were sitting in her living room. we missed you <3
I believe that Nelson didn't write that, Alyssa. It is a song by an Australian bloak named Xavier Rudd. Anywhom, your brother still sounds incredible although I'm not completely sure as to what his name is. I could come over and kill those spiders if you like, or as we call them "Lunch".

ReplyDeletewilliam riblanchestershirecasterburoughpoolondon, i believe she was referring to the quote that the child said. not the song lyric. cherrio!
